28th November 2007
Our football team came 2nd in the Plate Competition for Blackpool primary schools today. Well done.

16th November (well 17th if your picky) 2007
Children in Need
During 'children in need' week one of our pupils won a trip to school in a limo courtesy of studioD and the Gazzette...

STORY:
He was no ordinary little boy of 10 years old. He was the best big brother in the world – according to his younger sister. The rest of the school agreed and so did the judges at Radio Wave.
As a result he won a fantastic prize of pure fantasy to any school child in the country – to be picked up at home by a stretch limousine and taken to school in style, along with several of his chosen friends.

It all happened yesterday (Friday 16thNovember) on Children in Need day and the rest of his class turned out in their fund raising costumes to greet the lucky lad.

Loud cheers greeted his arrival and traffic on Newton Drive came to a standstill for a while as Scott Gallagher, the Radio Wave roving reporter, orchestrated 10 minutes of pure pandemonium.

Arriving with friends
Live radio interview in his own inimitable style.

3rd November 2007
The money from the spooky disco finally got counted today, we (seriously) raised a creepy £666 (and 24p).
This is about £100 more than previous years, so thank-you to everyone involved and everyone who came along and contributed.

27th September 2007
We played Claremont away at football and lost 4-2 :(

23rd May 2007
Digital Video Project

Together with a group of 16 Year6 children Mr.D Mrs.Lock and Mrs.Heyes went to the cinema in Blackpool with other groups of children in Blackpool schools to see the presentation of the DVP2007 award. We managed to come 3rd in one category with our film 'Ghost Hunters'. I'll endeavor to get permission slips off the parents of the involved children and get at least a sample of our video online to see.
Our animation 'Bob the Blob' was also shown, though didn't win, but IT can be shown on our website, it lives on the page HERE (under DigitalMedia 2007)

8th January 2007
New Term

We have re-opened after our Christmas holidays to face the Spring '07 term, at least its a short half-term.

21st December
End of Term

After a busy term and a hectic last week we are finally finished for Christmas @ 2pm today, unless your child is at KidsClub in which case the timing is as normal.
We wish you all a Cheery Christmas and a Compelling New Year.

23rd November
African Drumming

All November (and some of October, to be truthful) Y4 had been visited by some authentic African drummers in the afternoons to learn about African culture, but specifically to listen to the drums (the rest of the school can't help but listen either) and choreograph a dance to go with the beats - this dance was performed at 'African Music Night' on 23rd November, at the Grand Theatre Blackpool.

Friday 17th November
Children in Need

The Student Council had a cake sale to raise money for the BBC's Children in Need, this conveniently replaced Y6's ill fated assembly, and raised £160 that went to Children in Need.

Monday 16th October
Cinema Trip
Today Years 4,5 & 6 went to the cinema to see Zathura:A Space Adventure ('Dax' [the astronaut] saved the day, as expected from a Dax)

5th October
Bag2School

This year again we are collecting bag2school things. They collect usable clothing, bedding curtains, soft toys, shoes belts and handbags for reuse and donate money to the school depending on the weight we collect. If your reading this your child(ren) will already have recieved a Bag2School bag and flyer and we ask that you return them (with something in if possible) on Thursday 5th October.

21st September
This evening our Year5 football team played Boundary's team and managed to win 12-3!! Whenever Mrs.Lapsins get's asked about the man of the match she just lists the whole football team, so either everyone played well (or like me she still can't tell the kids apart!). Either way well done to Year5!

11th September
School photos were done this morning, so look out for photo forms in your childrens bags in the next few days. If you wish to order any the forms need to be returned and paid for by 21st September, then we expect the actual photos to arrive within a week of our bulk order being sent off (hopefully by the 1st week of October at the latest.)
Yes you do need to send seperate cheques/envelopes in if you have variations of photos (eg with/without siblings.) Please be careful to fill in the correct form if you do have more than one option to choose from. The eldest sibling should have the extra variations, so they need searching, the smaller child(ren) will [should] only have their individual photos.
