Year 5 is belonged to Ms.Smith, but since she's off elsewhere this term it is going to belong to Mr.Willis, with assistance from Mrs.Letzer.

June 2010 - Trip to the Library

During the week some Year5 and Year6 pupils went to the library to have a go at designing a more interesting library, in perticular the dome on the top.

Autumn2 - Pentagon Patterns

In maths we have been talking about lines of symmetry and diagonals. In a pentagon we found that if the diagonals from one corner to the opposite two are drawn, the lines will intersect and form another shape in the middle. We experimented with this on paper and in a computer drawing package, with a pentagon the diagonals always make another pentagon. The resulting line drawings were coloured and are now displayed on our gallery for all the other classes to see.
