Digital Media 2007

In March the 'Secret Agents' group in school (and me) went to St.George's school to 'film' an animation that they planned earlier in the term. We had planned short clips of a story and made plastecine models of all the charachters and props, we went to St.George's and used AppleMacs and iStopMotion to take lots of pictures of our models, while slowly moving our models between pictures. The program then squished them all together and made a moving film. All the finished pieces can be seen below.

Digital Media Project 2006

This year the digital video project was extended to include photos and animation, in the process becoming the DMP (digital media project). For the DMP this year we entered 2 digital videos, and 2 animations all produced by Year6 children.

The 4 entry's were:
'Teach me something' - Manage My Homework
'Make me laugh' - Through the Staffroom door
2x'Claymation' - Jabberwocky

Our entry for 'Teach me something' won its category (I can't put it online unfortunately, it [surprisingly!] has children in it) and we won an Ipod shuffle, that now accompanies the Camera we won last year.

Grandmother and Me

We have successfully completed this intergenerational project. We have been really lucky to have been selected to pilot this new way of learning. Several of our grandmothers have been coming into school to work with their granddaughters to explore the ways in which technology has developed over the past fifty years. It has been a great opportunity to develop skills in using digital video cameras, digital cameras and editing software.

Digital Video Project 2005

Our year 6 class has been involved in creating their own mini movie for the Blackpool LEA movie project competition. This year’s theme has been “Tell me a scary story”, a title that has inspired and motivated some great story telling. The children have story boarded, filmed, acted, produced and edited the movie, and the results have been fantastic. The film will be shown later this term at the Odeon Cinema along with all the local schools entries.

Update: We won the DVP this year and got given a camera for our trouble.
