Gospel Values

Whole school Curriculum

Our whole school curriculum is underpinned by Gospel Values which are at the heart of our mission.  Each term we follow Gospel Values in the Beatitudes  from Matthew's Gospel (5: 3-12).

  • Gospel values are not bolted onto the curriculum but find a place within our school life. Integral and naturally embedded into the culture of the school.
  • Actions are within our own faith values and life choices.
  • The values become our Mission to share the word and we live out it’s message with others.

We define the values as follows:

Autumn 1 : "Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth."   Gospel Values: Gentleness, selflessness

"How can we care for God’s Earth?"

Autumn 2 :  "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." Gospel Values : Purity and Holiness

"How can we serve God and love others?"

Spring 1 : "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied." Gospel  Values : Truth and Justice

"Do we always make the right choice?"

Spring 2 : "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. "  Gospel Values : Mercy and  Forgiveness

"How does each day offer opportunity for good?"

Summer 1 : "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven." Gospel Values : Faithfulness and Integrity

"Who do I want to be?"

Summer 2 :  "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God." Gospel Values : Peace and Tolerance

 "What makes a community?"

Wednesday Word

We have a GOSPEL value each week

Please click on the link below for the Wednesday Word  this week

Leaves are given out weekly by class teachers , in worship,  to pupils reflecting these values.  There are trees displaying the gospel values  in every classroom.
