We did it!
158 Children walked at least once to or from school. Well done St Kentigern's Children!
Monday 17th May is the start of WALK TO SCHOOL WEEK 2021
This years theme: WALKING SUPERPOWERS
This year’s challenge will focus on the walking superpowers that benefit individuals, communities and the planet.
Each day pupils will be introduced to a brand new ‘Walking Superpower’
Aim to walk to or from school every day to gain a walking badge.
Why are we doing this?
Walking has so many benefits from physical to mental wellbeing; aiding concentration and creativity and creating safer, less polluted and more welcoming streets. All that makes for a happy, healthy child set up for success in and out of the classroom.
Earth Day in Reception class 2021
We focused on plastic pollution.
Thank you so much to all of you who supported our 'Walk to School Week' by taking part in the five-day walking challenge.
Walking has fantastic physical and mental benefits and it was wonderful to see so many of you walking in smiling - even in the pouring rain!
Special mention goes to Year 3 who won the walking trophy for their amazing efforts last week. Well done!
As well as walking everyday, you all had a happy 'Shoesday' on Tuesday and came up with some amazing shoe designs. It was incredibly hard to judge the shoe designing competition as there were so many creative entries. Well done to everyone who entered. The winners are:
