A very warm welcome to our Year 2 class! We are delighted to begin this exciting year of learning, discovery and growing together. Year 2 is an important year for the children as they become increasingly independent, confident learners and build on all the wonderful skills they developed in Year 1.
Year 2 is not only about academic learning. We will encourage children to take pride in their work, try their best, learn from mistakes and support one another. Throughout the year, we will provide a broad and exciting curriculum that encourages children to be curious, creative and enthusiastic about their learning. We will aim to make learning fun and memorable through a mixture of whole-class teaching, practical activities, independent work, group tasks and opportunities to learn through play and exploration.
We will celebrate achievements, both big and small, and create a classroom where every child feels safe, valued, included and ready to learn.
We are very much looking forward to working in partnership with you throughout the year. Your support at home, particularly with reading regularly, practising key number facts and encouraging children to talk about their learning, will make a real difference.
We are excited about all the wonderful learning, experiences and memories that Year 2 will bring, and we can't wait to see the children flourish throughout the year!
