Year 2 Prayer Leaders
Sin and Hope
We have focused on how God was not happy with the sinful behaviour of some of his `followers` and how they were destroying his beautiful creations. We considered how through Noah; he brought a new hope to the world. We considered how we could bring hope to the world through our actions and words and carry on the mission of God and Noah.
Prayer
Luke 11:1–4 (The disciples ask Jesus how to pray)
In our story, the disciples wanted to know the secret to talking to God. Jesus didn't give them a long, difficult test. He gave them a simple prayer: the Our Father.

The Bible
Discovering that the Bible is split into two parts, The Old Testament and The New Testament, We looked at the number of stories we already knew and sorted them into the two categories. Using the Bible we then wrote lists of different stories we found and told our partners if they were from The Old Testament or The New Testament.
Noah and his Ark
God shone down and asked that Noah build a special boat, take his family and friends as well as two of every animal. He was not happy with how he saw the world and how it was being treated. He sent a flood that lasted 40 days and 40 nights. At the end of the flood, when the water level had dropped, Noah came out from his ark and saw that the earth God had created had been destroyed but God had sent a rainbow, his promise for change and a fresh start to the world he had created.
Promise – A reading from the book of Genesis
God saw that Noah was a good and kind man and asked him to build an boat for him and his family. They stayed on board for 40 days and 40 nights. When the rain stopped, God sent a rainbow into the sky. `This is my promise to you that I will always care for the world`.
Sometimes we have stormy days, we may be scared, we may be sad or worried but just like God kept Noah safe, God promises to look after us.
Our mission- to be a rainbow to someone else, try to bring joy or help a friend.
